Orphaned Google Classrooms

From an external forum:

"I have inherited a Google District that the previous IT deleted accounts rather than suspend accounts when a teacher or staff member left."

I have dozens of orphaned Google Classrooms and no accounts to reactivate to archive the Google Classroom."

What is the best way to archive these orphaned Google Classrooms?"

Hmm, I don't think you can archive them, only delete them?

This has come up again. An admin is asking how do delete Google Classrooms when the owner accounts no longer exist.

(For my reference, or if you're curious https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/thread/310068848 )
