What’s New in Google for Education? Gemini Canvas Meets Google Classroom
Educators and students can now share Gemini Canvas creations directly to Google Classroom.
Canvas can be used to develop interactive:
• Websites
• Quizzes
• Learning games
• Infographics
• Visual explanations
• Classroom resources
This opens the door for students to move beyond simply asking AI questions. They can use AI to design, create, demonstrate understanding and share original learning artifacts.
It also introduces important leadership questions:
• Who can publish and share these materials?
• Do our existing Drive-sharing rules provide the right protections?
• How will teachers review AI-generated content?
• How will students document their thinking and creative process?
• How do we ensure accessibility and accuracy?
Innovation becomes meaningful when creativity, safety and sound instructional practice move together.
How could your students use Gemini Canvas to demonstrate learning in a way that a traditional worksheet cannot?
