It has been another busy week for Google Workspace updates. From expanded AI language support to enhanced hardware compatibility, here is a breakdown of the latest features designed to streamline your workflows and support your students.
🌍 Gemini in Google Classroom: Global Language Expansion
Gemini in Google Classroom is now expanding to all Classroom-supported languages where Gemini is also available. This update makes AI-powered tools for lesson planning and quiz generation accessible to a much broader global audience of educators and students.
📓 NotebookLM "Plus" for Education Customers
For those using Education Plus or the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, Google is increasing limits across NotebookLM features at no additional cost. Users will now see a "Plus" badge next to their profile picture, indicating access to these higher usage thresholds for more intensive research and synthesis tasks.
🎙️ Expressive AI Voiceovers & 16 New Languages in Google Vids
Powered by the new Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS model, AI voiceovers in Google Vids now include 30 new conversational voice options with improved realism. These voices are now supported across 24 different languages, allowing for more natural-sounding video content globally.
🩺 Prepare for the NEET UG with Gemini
Expanding on the existing SAT and JEE Main support, Gemini now offers full-length, no-cost practice tests for the NEET UG. This is a significant resource for secondary students preparing for medical entrance exams.
💻 Product Updates & Admin Improvements
- Gemini App for Mac: Gemini is now available as a native desktop experience for macOS, accessible via keyboard shortcuts to help you stay in your workflow. Details here.
