When we talk about "Digital Safety," we often think of firewalls or privacy settings. But in a global community, we know that true safety also means inclusion. If a student cannot access the information or express their needs because of a barrier, they are inherently less safe in their digital environment.

Grounding Our Vision

This week, we are looking toward UNESCO’s commitment to Inclusion in Education, which reminds us every learner matters equally. At Google, we know accessibility tools are not "extras"—they are fundamental to a student's digital well-being.

Ways to Support an Inclusive Digital Journey:

  • Voice and Choice: Imagine the confidence a student feels when they use Live Captions on Chromebooks to follow a lesson that might otherwise be out of reach.
  • Expressive Freedom: What would it look like to encourage students to use Voice Typing in Google Docs as a way to lower the frustration of drafting, supporting their emotional well-being alongside their literacy?
  • Focused Learning: In what ways do you see Reading Mode in Chrome helping students with sensory sensitivities create a "safe space" for reading, free from digital distractions?

A Global Perspective

Accessibility looks different across the many countries in our community. I’m eager to learn: what are some ways you’ve used or you can use these features to help a student feel more "at home" and safe in their digital classroom?
