Building a Foundation for Deeper Learning Through a Growth Mindset

This event is organized by the Google ELP Facilitator Circle of Ogan Komering Ulu and focuses on the importance of a Growth Mindset as a foundation for implementing Deeper Learning. A Growth Mindset is the belief that intelligence and abilities can be developed without limits through the process of learning and effort. Through this training, we will equip ourselves with strategies to help students shift their perspectives from a Fixed Mindset (which leads to giving up easily) to a Growth Mindset (which fosters persistence and optimism).

This training will cover relevant materials and activities from the prepared module, including:

Recognizing and Changing Mindsets: We will learn how to identify the hindering voices of a Fixed Mindset and transform them into the positive voices of a Growth Mindset.

Mindset Intervention: Teachers will be equipped with the skills to conduct effective interventions when students face challenges. This includes providing "process praise" and explaining that making mistakes is a natural way for the brain to learn and grow.

Integrating Character and Academics: We will discuss how to integrate character values into all subjects, not just religious or civic education, to form students who are both academically smart and have good character.

Designing Innovation Projects: Participants will learn to design innovation projects in their work environment using a simple yet effective method, starting with identifying problems and developing creative ideas.
