Students browser auto launching site

We have the students logins set to open to a specific page and for the most part it works. We're seeing on a few that does work and then after the login finishes it changes page to another site crazygames.com which our content filter blocks. I'm sure these students have changed some setting (we cannot go to settings on the device becaus eit changes that page to crazygames.com as well) to do this but I cannot find what. It follows the login so if I login as that user on another device it does it as well.

Does anyone know what may cause this? We only allow certian extensions so they cannot add them.

If a site redirects to another - that does sound like DNS - either local DNS or DNS associated with the hosting of the site. Although you would expect that on all users. Have you checked the users Chrome settings? Looks for the popups and redirects settings.

If I understand your write up correctly it is redirecting you from the "chrome://settings/" page to crazygames.com.  I think this would eliminate DNS as that is a local page built into the browser.  It actually sounds a bit like an extension to me.  We have had issues with extensions before where they will grab any new browser tab and redirect it to another page.  I don't think the ones that we had do it would redirect the "chrome://" pages through.

Yes any site you open in a few seconds changes to crazy games.com. Then yesterday for this one user I ad credentials for and that it was happeniong on it just stopped doing it.

It is possible they remapped one of the shortcuts to open it up: chrome://settings/searchEngines?search=shortcuts or pop-ups and redirects chrome://settings/content/popups?search=cookies
