(Limited) integration between Workspace accounts

I'm looking for integration / collaboration options between 2 Workspace accounts. The organizations in question are closely related and share facilities, but there is no plan to merge/migrate the organizations or their respective Workspace accounts. I think where we would find some level of integration helpful is Calendar and Directory (global address list). For resource calendars, one workaround is to assign access to one or more external (different Workspace account) domains. I've used GAM to do so. This is something of a kludge and resource calendars shared this way don't appear in browsable resources for users in external Workspace domains. Importing CSV resource calendar "contacts" for the external users is helpful, but clunky.
I've done some searching for Google-native or third party options for partial/limited integration between Workspace accounts/environments, but came up empty-handed so far. I'm guessing this doesn't exist and/or isn't considered best practice. I would appreciate any related suggestions/tips you can share.

Thank you,

Hi @Ron !

Apart from Allowlisted Domains, I can only think of the things you seem to already have thought of.

Services that work with trusted domains

  • Google Drive—Users can share files with domains on the allowlist.
  • Classroom—When you put a domain on the allowlist, your users can join classes in that domain and users in the allowlisted domain can join your classes.
  • Google Chat—Users in a trusted domain can chat with users in your organization. Depending on your Google Workspace edition, your users can create and join one-to-one messages or spaces that include users in a trusted domain. Not supported for Enterprise Starter.
  • Looker Studio—Users in your organization can access assets from domains on the allowlist.

What I can offer is a method to sync the two Global Address Lists, as I've inspired GAM developer @RossScroggs to create a GAM script for doing that, which you can find in his github.

Be aware that it's not a script you just run! Most GAM7 companion scripts have a lot of text inside them explaining their use.
