“Chance favors the connected mind.” It is because of this quote by author Steven Johnson that Jason Markey, Assistant Superintendent in Lisle, IL joined this group. Jason became an educational leader when he realized the potential that school systems can have when they design for students and support its teachers. This aligns perfectly to one of Jason’s proudest moments of his career - the launch of a new program for freshman students at East Lisle High School. “The program really changed the way we structured learning. I was proud of the fact that the design of the program was teacher-led and based on deep thinking with our students.” Today, almost 10 years later, the program remains a vibrant part of the school.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys watching his son’s volleyball competition. His personal hobbies also include running and hiking.
