KnowBe4 in Education

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody uses KnowBe4 in their school district.

User education is very important and it is something we lack. I used KnowBe4 at my old job and I thought it was amazing!

I know one big turn-off for some districts (like mine) is the price of the product. One free alternative I heard of is Infosec IQ but it seems like most people go with KnowBe4.

My questions are:

If you use KnowBe4 do you use it for only staff members or students also? 

What KnowBe4 plan do you have? Looking at their website I don't think I need anything above Gold. I am in between the Silver and Gold options.

Lastly, has anybody used Infosec IQ? How is it compared to KnowBe4?

We purchased a 3 year Diamond level agreement with KnowBe4 because our cybersecurity insurance provder wanted us to start phish testing staff, among other things.

We do not phish test students.  We are an elementary school (grades K-8) and students are already in a walled-garden with email.

I regularly phish test our staff, sometimes once or twice a month.

KnowBe4 has a tremendous amount of content, but it can also be very confusing to understand a lot of it.

It took a little bit of trial and error to create the correct rules in Workspace to allow the messages to come through without being flagged, or marked as spam.

I would recommend the product.

We have the Gold level and have ongoing bi-weekly phishing tests and training in October. We have been using it er five+ years.  We only use it for staff. As previously mentioned there is a lot of content.  When users fail a phishing test they are given additional training. I would and have recommended it.

The KnowBe4 company is willing to set up demo proof of concepts for potential customers - there is information at https://www.knowbe4.com/ which shows the different parts of the software.  Pricing depends on the number of seats and features.

KnowBe4 also has resellers that may be able to get you better pricing than buying direct.  They also then provide some support and help in getting it set up (both KnowBe4 and the reseller).

We went  with InfosecIQ as I found it to be more Edu-centric.

 I did demo Knowb4 also.

I think both leave a bit to be desired from a learning platform, but I think both can work if you set them up properly.
