Google Workspace For Education student licensing

I have a question on Google Workspace For Education licensing for students that I dont seem to be able to lock down an answer on.  Ive read the posts here (post 2022) without a firm answer.

When Google changed from the legacy licenses to its new format, what all are the abilities students gained from the license that they did not have?  We have been running without student licenses assigned for a bit now and havent heard a peep about their losing any abilities.  Teacher licenses are assigned and we checked for all the nifty tools they like using but again, nothing from the students.

Also, can anyone confirm that if you assign a license to a student OU and a student moves out of the OU, is it still a manual process (or scripting) to remove the license much like it use to be for the Teaching license prior?

Are you talking about the free version (fundamentals)?  I know with our education plus licenses, they are applied to the users not the OU and have to either manual assigned/removed or you need to have some kind of script to assign the licenses.

Google Workspace for Education Plus (which we got along with Google Workspace for Education Plus (Staff) )  We still have the Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals and all users have that assigned according to the subscription page, however we have none of the Google Workspace for Education Plus applied to any users and we were wondering what was the advantage to assigning those to users (students I would presume).

I've found lots of documentation and threads on people preparing for the licenses however I cant seem to find one detailing the benefits of applying that Google Workspace for Education Plus to a user.

Per one of the helpful threads here I have sent an email off to na-k12-gwfe@google.com to see if I can find this districts Google Rep and ask them.

Thank you for that link and that short synopsis!  AmplifiedIT definitely was my next stop after my Google Representative (whom did get in touch post-haste). This group never fails to amaze me.
