Google Docs / YouTube link preview feature

Discovered students are copying and pasting blocked YouTube URLS in random Google Docs and when they hover over the link the preview window appears and they are able to watch the video without having GoGuardian blocking it.  Maybe I'm late to the party on this but where can I disable this feature in GAC? Inside the Google Doc on the user level, you can uncheck the option of "Show link details" and that turns off this feature but I can't find it on the admin side to force this feature off. I've discovered a paid extension called Safe Docs that looks like this might a possible solution but would like to see all options possible. Thank you!

There are so many user settings not available to manage by admina. This is one of them.

Safe Docs breaks features by injecting other code inside the Drive editors. It has a number of other breakable/manageable features.

Seems Safe Docs only supports English. 😞

I can't see whether it is coded in Mv2 or Mv3, which matters as Mv2 extensions will eventually stop working. So may not be a good idea to grow reliant on such a tool.

Kim, any ideas on how to go about this? I'm not that versed in GAM, but I'm curious if there is a script we could create/run to disable the preview feature for a YouTube link in Slides/Docs?

There's no API for such settings and then nothing gam can do.

Only Chrome extensions like SafeDoc, can interfere with regular built-in features

Mary, did Google ever provide a fix for this? Our lovely students have discovered this work around recently.
