Shareable class templates are coming soon to Google Classroom in beta! This feature simplifies lesson planning for teachers and curriculum leaders by offering shareable links to high-quality classes and class templates that other educators can preview and select classwork to import into their own classes. Educators will be able to stay up-to-date with the best materials, more easily share content with each other, and get ideas for instructional design. This feature is available to users with an Education Plus license assigned to them.

We’re excited to offer this feature to curriculum leaders during back-to-school period, and want to encourage these educators to start building class templates in Classroom during summer prep months.

Please share this one-pager with curriculum leaders in your network, encouraging them to build class templates in Classroom this summer. And, in order to share their templates at the start of the school year, they’ll need to express interest in the beta at goo.gle/shareable-classwork-beta. After expressing interest, we’ll be connecting with the Workspace Admin to complete a sign-up form on behalf of their domain.

Best,

The Google for Education team

Nice! Lesson templates is one of the things most asked for, for everything, and then when it is actually available, nobody uses it. Completely inexplicable. Always been the case over my 20 years staffing in schools.

So, the beta... does each individual teacher have to sign up themselves?

It will be automatically available to them within Classroom if their school has an Education Plus license.

Appreciate that everything costs money, but another thing that is behind a licence fee now (sorry if that sounds negative). A great idea for sure.

Yes, it is definitely a shame that features we all consider things that should always have existed are only released for Plus.

Hi @Kristal ... So, maybe I need to read more about this, but the way I'm understanding that one-pager is that this allows a teacher who has a great Google Classroom set up with resources and all the good stuff to be able to share it with a colleague so they can model their own Google Classroom entirely or in part or down to parcel. Is that correct?

Also, can that Google Classroom be shared in this Template model with peers outside their own domain or even publicly for someone else to peruse, pull down, and build their own on top of?
