Google Calendar Integration > Room Reservations

Has anyone has ever tinkered with a Google Calendar integration to do Room Reservations. Among my many hats, I'm officially our high school Auditorium Manager and unofficially, our Space Reservation Manager. So, I'm curious if there's an easy integration to generate a daily slide or heads up display for a room (see photo) or rooms based on Google Calendar entered events.

I know there's probably paid solutions, but I want to see what we can do on the cheap (errr, on the "free") first...

You can always create a web app which displays only that room's bookings.

All the Calendar API commands to pull information is available, and it just has to refresh itself every now and then to reflect changes in the calendar, and what time it is.

Interesting... I guess it could be a "Hello World" in Calendar API for me... An interesting coding challenge...
