Event Overview Join the Global GEG for "Digital Roots: Integrating Traditional Knowledge into Classrooms," a session focused on bridging cultural preservation with digital competency. This webinar explores how primary and secondary educators can use technology to ground learning activities in the immediate ecological, historical, and linguistic realities of their communities. We will demonstrate how to utilize Google Workspace tools to build inclusive, student-owned repositories of local wisdom, bypassing one-size-fits-all digital frameworks. Participants will discover methods for transforming student research into high-impact digital artifacts that honor traditional elders and regional knowledge holders. This session offers the strategic design foundations required to build a learning environment where modern technical literacy and ancient wisdom reinforce one another. Guests Febriandrini Kumala Febriandrini is an educational leader and curriculum developer based in Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. As Vice Director of Lazuardi Al Falah Global Compassionate School, she leads initiatives in curriculum innovation, instructional improvement, and digital transformation across early childhood, primary, and secondary education. Her passion lies in helping educators create meaningful learning experiences through evidence-informed practices, data-driven decision-making, and the thoughtful integration of technology. As the leader of the Google Educator Group (GEG) Klaten, she actively supports teachers in adopting Google for Education tools and artificial intelligence to foster collaborative, engaging, and future-ready classrooms. She is proud to have led Lazuardi Al Falah in becoming the first school in Klaten to be recognized as a Google Reference School, reflecting her commitment to innovation and excellence in education. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with educators, school leaders, and learning communities to design professional development programs and build sustainable cultures of continuous improvement. She believes that meaningful collaboration and a shared commitment to innovation can empower educators and create lasting impact for learners. Nastiti Rahajeng Nastiti is a primary school teacher, curriculum coordinator, and social media manager at Lowokwaru 4 Public Primary School Malang, East Java, Indonesia, where she teaches sixth-grade Math, Indonesian, Natural and Social Sciences, Visual Arts, Japanese Language, and Civic Education. As a Google Certified Trainer, Google Certified Innovator, and Leader of Google Educator Group (GEG) Kota Malang, she actively supports fellow educators in earning Google Certified Educator Level 1, Level 2, and Trainer credentials. Her passion lies in driving educational innovation through curated instructional materials, digital assessment tools, and accessible learning resources, which she curates and distributes through Edupix Digital Corner and Bank Ide Guru. Beyond the primary classroom, she regularly serves as an instructional practitioner at Malang State University, mentoring prospective teachers in the Elementary School Teacher Education and Professional Teacher Education programs. Additionally, she contributes to global perspectives in education as a member of the Education Advisory Group under Tech Terra Education US. Through workshops and continuous training across primary, secondary, and higher education, she is dedicated to empowering teachers to deliver high-quality instruction and providing students with flexible, future-ready learning opportunities anywhere and anytime.

Learn how to use the Google ecosystem to scaffold student-led storytelling, moving away from standardized curriculum templates toward culturally responsive preservation. Discover how to replace generic spatial projects with deeply localized mapping that turns traditional wisdom into a focal point for modern digital literacy. This session provides a practical, inclusive blueprint for honoring ancient perspectives using collaborative frameworks. Guest Rachel Duckworth Rachel’s first year teaching was way back in the 1900’s. Things have come a long way since then. She’s been lucky enough to teach all over Aotearoa, New Zealand, with a couple of years in London thrown in. Rachel is one of three GEG Aotearoa Leaders, and has been a Google Trainer since 2017 and an Innovator since 2019. Her innovator project centred around indigenous education and helping disconnected young Māori students to their culture.

At Colegio Decroly Americano, he has taught courses on Spanish, World, and Spanish-American literature, as well as the AP Spanish Literature course. He has also led the Seminar course—a long-term research project that graduating students must complete during their final year. Rodvin has developed active strategies and methodologies aimed at enhancing students' critical thinking through the analysis of literary texts, helping them appreciate the texts' continued relevance today. Guest Sheila Escobedo Sheila has been in the teaching field for more than 30 years. She holds a BA in School Administration, and a Masters degree in Education. She considers herself a lifelong learner, and has explored different resources to teach students from elementary to university levels. She has worked at Colegio Decroly Americano teaching different grade levels and performing administrative roles, as well. Her current position as Director of Learning and Teaching has allowed her to observe and help teachers grow professionally, which has impacted positively on students' learning. She holds different certifications such as: ISTE+ASCD Certified Instructional Leader, Google Innovator, Trainer, ELP Circle Facilitator, and GEG Leader.
