Utilizing Gemini in math class doesn't seem viable at all

So we have been doing some preliminary testing and Gemini seems completely unable to generate images pertaining to math problems/solutions at all.

It's an approximation at best, but has no real use when the data is all wrong.
Asking Gemini to generate a simple parabola returns something like this, which is just plain wrong on pretty much every level.

Try asking it for an image of number between 1 and 10 and you get something like this:

Have anyone been successful in using Gemini, at all, when dealing with math?

An unhelpful reply, but both math and images containing text are things that LLMs like Gemini ( and all others) are notoriously bad at. It’s still one of the easiest ways to tell if an image is AI generated….

Hi, Mark, I've run into the same sorts of issues when attempting to visualize math concepts.

Luckily, I have other tools for that.

What I have had great success at is helping me to create problem sets for students tailored to specific learning needs or pedagogical frames.

Additionally, Gemini has been helpful in creating text-based problems built around real-world examples. Its/my learning curve around prompt creation required a few passes for me to more specifically understand what it was I was asking for.
