Recent scholarship in Writing Center pedagogy (e.g., Cornell Writing Centers 2026) emphasizes critical AI literacy.

Traditional Minimalist Tutoring asks the tutor to sit back and let the student lead. However, with the rise of GenAI, tutors are now expected to be active collaborators in detecting and redirecting AI-generated logic.

  • How do we maintain the student-led philosophy of peer tutoring when the tutor must now intervene to correct AI-dependency?
  • Can a tutor be non-directive while simultaneously teaching a student how to audit an AIโ€™s output?
