Ted Lasso is hands down my favorite show.
i initially started watching because it was funny + made me laugh.
pretty quickly, i found myself hooked on the little nuggets of wisdom woven into every character's journey + the uniquely insightful, compassionate things Ted would say in only his way.
with the 4th season right around the corner next month, i decided to rewatch the last season to refresh my memory.
i ended up binge-watching the final several episodes today, + it reminded me exactly why this show stands out.
it’s funny, yes, but it’s so much more…
Ted Lasso is a masterclass in human connection.
it doesn't shy away from the hard stuff - mental health struggles, anxiety, grief, + the mistakes made when we're hurting.
it reminds us of the power of second chances + the grace required to move forward (this scene is from Ep. 11, S3 - Nate + Coach Beard)
it proves to me that:
"be a goldfish" (Ted’s favorite little line): when we make a mistake, learn from it, let go of the shame, + keep swimming instead of dwelling on past stumbles.
growth isn't linear: healing + personal growth require patience with ourselves + others.
vulnerability is strength: opening up about mental health doesn't make us weak; it creates space for real connection + authentic conversation.
forgiveness changes everything: people are truly capable of change when given grace, empathy, + room to learn from missteps.
in work + in life, i often forget how impactful a second chance can be.
whether it’s leading with core values, navigating personal relationships, or just permitting myself to forget a bad day + reset, there’s always room to "be curious, not judgmental."
let's be like Ted.
