YouTube

In the last two weeks, something has changed with YouTube.  Teachers now are unable to play and view a video in YouTube.  When we click on the play button we get this message: "Video unavailable This content isn’t available."

If we paste the URL into Classroom or Slides then the video plays.

Advice please!

That sounds like a possible network filtering issue?

All Youtube links?  Or just some?

Look closely at the landing URL. Does it say something like "youtubeeducation.com?" I've seen some reports like that and have not gotten an explanation from Google.

It does not say something; like "youtubeeducation.com"

All YouTube links.  We have made no changes to our filter or Google Admin Console.

Example URL of a video not playing correctly?

Are the teachers signed into youtube (does it work when not logged into youtube)?   Try it without going through filter?  The answers or results of those should help.

We are having a problem as well, but it seems to be Securly. It's calling Youtube a category, but I'm not seeing it. Have a ticket in with them.

By chance do you have uBlock or some other ad blocker deployed?

Youtubes been making changes on that front so it could be the ad block is running afoul of those changes or any automatically updating lists within your filter could be as well.

It is working now--not sure what happened or how it was fixed.  Thank you for your help!

It is February and this is now happening in our district. Anyone realize what occurred?
