YouTube allows all videos if student signs into Chrome and signs out.

Students are required to sign into Chrome to view Approved Youtube videos but if they sign out of Chrome and go back to Youtube they have unrestricted access.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried "Force users to sign-in to use the browser" policy. see https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7572556?hl=en#zippy=%2Cadmin-console

We do have this policy enforced. Students sign in to use Chrome but can sign out and still use as well as view any YouTube videos.

What devices are they using? If ChromeOS then I would think they shouldn't be able to sign out due to the above mentioned "Force users to sign-in to use the browser" but if they're using Windows or Mac that's another story. I believe there's a setting under Devices->Chrome called Managed Browsers that could be relevant here but it looks like you need a subscription to utilize.

Managed Chromebooks and I have tried it as a student and it does allow them. They have to sign into the Chromebook but can sign out of Chrome and see any video. Users are forced to sign into Chrome but can sign out of Chrome without signing out of Chromebook.

Take a look at this link I found while trying to solve.

Our school district is altering the DNS record of google to point to the safe browsing IP. See https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/227986807-How-to-Enforcing-Google-SafeSearch-YouTube-a...

This works while in district

Mahalo!
