Unable to add hyperlinks to Gmail signature

All,

We recently started using Namecoach (tool for recording pronunciation of names), and many of our users are able to add a hyperlink to the pronunciation in their signatures. I've got one user (potentially more) who can add hyperlinks in his signature, but the don't appear when he composes an email.

We've tried:

  • Updating Chrome
  • Removing all extensions
  • Clearing cache and cookies
  • Allowing cookies on mail.google.com
  • Deleting signature completely and creating a new one
  • Using another browser
  • Using another device

Other suggestions?

When I set my signature, I have the option to do either "Rich Formatting" or "Plain Text", as shown in the screenshots below. Could that be the issue, perhaps?

See this:

Versus this:

I've also seen it use the plain-text version of the signature if the rest of the message is just plain text. Does it still happen if you send formatted text in the body of the message?

Cheers,

Ian

Yes, I've verified that the correct signature has been selected.

I've also tried another account on the same device (tested on a Chromebook with student's account and another one).

I couldn't find anything in the account settings that would control signature formatting. Text comes through, but no hyperlinks. We tried both Namecoach's button (small graphic with HTML) and a standard hyperlink. It looks fine in the settings view, but after saving, it doesn't work in a new Gmail.

Yeah, I too have links in my signature and have for years.

Images too for the fancy signature. 🙂

Thanks! I thought there might be some sort of formatting default, and it looks like this was it!

Leave it to a 6th grader to tinker in an area I didn't think of.

Thanks!
