No files in My Drive from Google sheets import

Not sure if this is supposed to be a new behaviour but before when our teachers go into Google Sheets, the My Drive was filled with their documents but now all they are seeing is below.  It is not until they filter for files do the files show up.  Anybody else seeing this?

Is it because you are clicking on the File>Import and not the File>Open? The Import File option that you have in the screenshot will only bring in files that you do not already have in Google Drive.

I do get the same behavior that you indicated. If I click on the Recent tab, then click on the My Drive tab, files show up.
