New saml profiles issue

So two things

  1. where is the status of the OIDC configurations that they rolled out? I saw a while back that they temporarily are halting the OIDC sso/idp configuration or implementation for the time being, can't seem to find that post
  2. anyone having issues where they are currently on the Legacy sso/idp profile and trying to set up the new saml profile in order to test, and running into issues?

I believe I have it configured properly, and applied to an ou with a test user, but when i go to test the sso connection (by going to gmail.com, or mail.google.com or mail.google.com/a/domain.tld or even clicking the "tile"/link in our sso platform) i get an error about "can't sign you in contact domain admin" well I am the admin, and the saml logs in google admin don't present anything related to the test user, and our sso platform (onelogin) is showing as successful login.

I've opened a case with Google, but wondering if there's anyone else out there that had issues or are having issues, or had no issues.
