Gmail>Compliance>Append footer setting

I have a few questions about this setting.  If enabled, does it get added to EVERY outgoing email message?  Even REPLIES to incoming messages?  Or is it really only for newly created outbound messages?

Also, I had an administrator ask me an interesting question.  She wants to be able to schedule a message footer to automatically be added at scheduled times of the day, for example "after school hours", or during school holiday breaks.

I do not see ANY way to schedule something like this, as it looks like it would need to be manually enabled and disabled when needed.

Or,  has anyone seen a third party tool that might do something like this?

The Footer is added to emails sent from your users, so you have the option of just messages going outside your Domain or include internal emails as well. You cannot add this to incoming emails. For incoming email you may want to look into the Compliance section.

I am not aware of any way to schedule the Footer.

Is a REPLY to an email considered a sent email?  Will footers be added to replies as well?  Or only the initially created message?

Yes. All sent emails are considered to be sent.

Whatever @James_Seymour says is usually right, and if there is a solution where GAMADV-XTD3 can do it, you can be sure James would say so. 🙂
