Delegate GMail Mailbox to Group

Has anyone had success delegating a mailbox to a group?

I thought it was possible based on this.

...but attempting to
gam user sharethis@domain.com delegate to grouphere@domain.com
results in 
Add Failed: Invalid delegate

There are currently 7 delegates on the mailbox and the group has 10 members (many of whom are the existing delegates).

Did you allow delegations to groups in the domain? The default is off for this setting.

Under > https://admin.google.com/ac/apps/gmail/usersettings > Allow users to grant their mailbox access to a Google group

Still the same error, but I'll give it some time to apply and try again later.

Yea it takes a while to get working. Found one domain that I manage that didn't have it on, took just over 8 hours to get it enabled. It can take up to 24 hours however, from what I read online this can be the case.
