Anyone else a bit concerned there is no admin control to this it seems? Going back to Kim's point about things being released without thought for the EDU market.

Disappointed, but not concerned.

Disappointed not getting an admin control.

Not concerned about the feature itself.

💭What's the use case for an admin control on this one?

It's essentially just creating a "rich export". If I was concerned about recordings being made the setting exists to disable the camera/mic.

I am concerned re safeguarding and appropriate use with children. I do indeed have the settings blocked in various ways, but do allow on Flip for example. But this is quite tightly controlled by staff and the settings on Flip. I just would be a little concerned that the children could just record themselves on this (looks like there is a webcam capture option) potentially in inappropriate situations and be sharing it with others.

Just being able to block the camera access in some way would be good.

I hope that makes sense.

They can already do that from Google Drive. Blocking camera access would remove a useful and appropriate tool. The only way to keep them perfectly safe is to bubblewrap them and feed them like in The Matrix.

Thanks Mark. Yes, appropriate use at appropriate times is important. Hence locking it down to appropriate sites that are managed, not a free fall. I shall purchase some more bubble wrap and prepare the feeding tubes 🙂
