Crafting the ideal Dashboard

Hello, everyone.

While thinking about the design for our school's new dashboard, our team got caught up in a fascinating discussion. The fundamental question was:

"What would make an ideal dashboard for any school?"

The conversation that followed was not only informative, but it also made us question what the larger community of educators may think.

This curiosity leads me to you. We'd want to hear your thoughts based on your expertise and extensive knowledge.

What critical Google Classroom data pieces do you believe are required for a dashboard that accurately reflects the health and success of a school, its students, teachers, and courses?

Consider which indicators or variables will provide the most useful information for decision-making and strategy. Your input could have a significant impact on how we approach this project, ensuring that we create something truly meaningful.

We're all ears and can't wait to include your feedback into our journey to create this critical tool.

Looking forward to your valuable input,

Jaime

This is a great question - Would love to hear others ideas regarding data points that lead to a deeper understanding of student academic success.  Is there a gradebook dashboard, student logins, maybe even parent logins?? Thanks for this question.

Not sure if this is helpful, but please see the link below for our District Info-graph.  It contains our goals, demographics, budget info, and macro key performance indicators. Val Verde Info-graph

When I think of a dashboard I think of the person using the page as the person in charge of navigating the information they need.  LookerStudio would be ideal for this in terms of disaggregating data and give the viewer control of the info they see.  Unfortunately we have struggled learning the platform and have struggled to find helpful tutorials or sample projects.  I would love to see Google release a tutorial or template a school could use to learn how to use it or link their own data to build out the dashboard.

This is a great suggest @mark_richardson - Thank you for contributing to the conversation! @Kristal  - thoughts?

Thank you so much for sharing this need.  Here is the webpage for Looker Studio that has training materials, resources, etc. that you might find helpful. After reviewing, please let me know if you need additional supporting materials.   https://sites.google.com/corp/google.com/lookerstudio/home/training
