Chrome OS Flex Error

Hi everyone!

We have been progressively loading Chrome OS Flex onto our old devices. Most are working well but a few are having the attached issue. Has anyone come across this error and identified an easy fix?

Thanks everyone! I found these steps which seem to have fixed the issue, but I'll test on some other devices to confirm:

Known issue

ChromeOS Flex cannot install if internal storage—such as HDD, SSD, and so on—is set to RAID mode.

Workaround

Before you install ChromeOS Flex on devices, switch BIOS or UEFI settings from RAID to AHCI.

  1. Open the BIOS settings menu.
  2. Find the menu for RAID and AHCI settings, typically under Storage.
  3. Make sure that RAID is set to Disabled or switch from RAID to AHCI.
  4. Save the settings and exit the BIOS settings menu.
  5. Re-install ChromeOS Flex on the device. For instructions, see Boot device using the USB installer and Start using ChromeOS Flex.

I have limited experience with Chrome OS Flex, but do the devices it does not work on differ in some manner from the ones it does work on? I also saw on your screenshot that there is a link to view the logs, did that give you any good information? I am also assuming that the specs are matching what is required.

Since we have thought of using this tool, I look forward to seeing what information the rest of this thread will have!

Verify that you can wipe/format the devices and install some other OS on it.

Then wipe it again and come back to try Chrome Flex again.
