Listen to Tab

I have a principal that wants teachers to use the "listen to tab" feature that is in Google Docs.  It should be under Insert>Audio>Listen to Tab.  I believe I've enabled everything in the Google Admin console, but I am wondering if it's not covered in the Google Workspace for Education Plus accounts.  I struggle to understand what's included in which plans.  I'm assuming this feature is only available with the AI Pro for Education accounts?  Can anyone confirm?

I am not sure either.  But I have pro and have it.  I have checked multiple users without Pro and they do not have it.  Since it is new maybe it hasn't rolled out to them.  BUT I am betting it is a Pro feature.  I don't know if there is a comparision chart of the different versions and their features somewhere.  BUT if someone finds that it would be great to share it here.

When I requested the "listen to tab," my technology department would not authorize it because it is through Gemini. My IT Dept is very wary of AI with students, so they are not allowing it at this time. At least that was how it was explained to me.

So glad I am not alone in this plight.  Google Vids appeared 3 years ago and I began using it with students.  It was easier for them to understand video editing in Google Vids and then transition to We Video than it was to start with We Video.  During the summer of 2026, Google Vids was turned off.  I discovered this right before the AI Symposium, and luckily my district's Google Rep was present.  After we had a conversation, she reassured the tech team that students under 18 would not have access to the AI tools.  Now my students can access it again!
