In schools, we tend to celebrate what’s most visible: big events, major milestones, public wins. But some of the work teachers feel most proud of happens quietly, without an audience. It might be a relationship they’ve built with a hard-to-reach student, a routine that’s finally working, or a team that stuck with a challenge longer than anyone noticed.
Those moments matter. When pride goes unnamed, it can fade into “just doing the job.” When it’s acknowledged, it reinforces that the work teachers are doing, especially the unseen parts, is valued.
