Hi all 👋

As the academic year continues, I wanted to highlight a resource specifically tailored for this community: Gemini Faculty Fundamentals. This video series is purpose-built to help higher education faculty integrate Google’s AI tools—specifically Gemini and NotebookLM—into high-level instruction and research.

While many AI conversations focus on basic productivity, this series is designed to help professors and lecturers move students beyond "speed to answer" and toward depth of inquiry. We focus on discipline-specific applications that maintain academic standards while embracing modern workflows.

The series is organized into three strategic pillars:

  • Live instruction demos: Modeling Gemini as a "thought partner" to visualize abstract concepts, conduct live literature scans, or perform real-time data analysis during lectures.
  • Student coursework assignments: Frameworks for designing assignments that use AI for Socratic tutoring, rubric-based peer review, and grounded synthesis of complex research papers.
  • Educator productivity: Practical ways to automate the "administrative heavy lifting," from curriculum mapping against accreditation standards to reverse-engineering grant rubrics.

We're continuing to release a new video each week throughout the first half of 2026 to help you consistently evolve your digital pedagogy.

Access the full series and learning path here: goo.gle/FacultyFundamentals.

I’d love to hear from this group: How are you currently using Gemini or NotebookLM to stress-test research theories or facilitate seminar discussions? Your insights can help us shape the future of this series.

Best,
Marcus
