Ultimately, bridging this gap requires moving beyond simple technology bans and toward teaching students how to wield AI responsibly as a collaborative tool. By introducing structured, low-stakes AI interactions in vocational and technical courses, instructors can support proper use of  the technology while ensuring that diverse, non-traditional learners gain the exact competencies required in an evolving labor market.
