Workspace Licensing Changes (Announced in July '25)

We're budgeting for our Workspace license renewal, and had missed these licensing changes [Summary] [Details] [Reddit].

The two largest impacts for us are: 

• The 4:1 Licensing Model Has Gone Away

• Education Plus: Going from $5 ➝ $6/user/year

  Teaching & Learning Add-On: Going from $48 ➝ $60/user/year

I don't know if you still can, but you may be able to get a 3 year subscription using the old model. Ours was coming due a few months ago and our reseller sent us the email telling us about the price increase and if we wanted to keep the currennt pricing a little longer we could renew our subscription a little early.

Effectively, the maths make the increase 50% counted in $€£ or whatever your currency is.

Definitely a kick in the pants.  

Most of us are already too deeply invested in the Googleverse to be able to consider pivoting away - and there's not really a similar alternative. 

I'm not surprised - but I'm still disappointed.  From the "Free" and "Unlimited" that we once had..to this.
