Device updates bandwidth throttling ?

I know you can limit overall network speeds on a chromebook. (Not sure why) but is there any way to limit just chrome updates. Sometimes all 16000 of them update at once (even with scatter updates enabled) and it uses most of out ISP connection

I use the "scatter updates" over 14 days and "additional blackout windows" for my various schools and we don't ever see any issues with our bandwidth. And of course the manual push of the "check for updates" is still an option for us if we don't want to wait for the next window for that particular school. And to make sure that students are restarting their devices to finish the update, I do an auto-reboot EVERY night at 2am.

Do you have as many issues with Chrome being updated like we do? Most devices update  but many do not. We have chromebooks set to restart on weekends. We also have the user and browser setting for relaunch notification set, so that when they do get an update they will restart between 2 and 4 am. I think what happens is in the morning because students close the lid at the end of the day, it causes a restart.

"We have chromebooks set to restart on weekends."

How?
