Coming Soon: Your New IT Admin Program - The Google Education Admin Group (GEAG)

Hi everyone,

We are excited to announce the launch of our updated education program for IT Admins, the Google Education Admin Group (GEAG)! This community remains focused on IT Admins who work in the education sector and offers a variety of resources, including forums, blogs, articles, and events, so they can connect with each other, share ideas, and learn from one another.

In the remodeled GEAG, you'll be able to explore the following spaces::

  • The Forum is where you can connect with your fellow Admins and view topics about all things Google Workspace for Education. On each visit, look for existing topics that you can contribute replies to or start a new topic for something that’s missing.
  • NEW: A forum dedicated for Introductions will be the place for newcomers to connect with our current members.
  • In the Events space, you can learn about upcoming events that will include anything from live webinars from Google, local in-person meetups, or community organized experiences (ex. Feature Release watch parties)
  • NEW: Looking to Stay Informed? You'll find News/Announcements, Resources, Blogs, and Past Events bundled in one convenient space. Here you’ll be able to share your comments about current Google Workspace topics and trends. What are you most interested in and excited about? Look for posts from moderators and Googlers as new features, updates, and webinars are announced.
  • NEW: Lastly, The Library is where you’ll find curated topics based on popular forum posts, as well as opportunities to share your best strategies for getting the most out of Google Workspace from an Admin perspective. Content will be delivered directly from the source, that is, Googlers and program moderators.

Community Administrators

The Community will continue to have Kim Nilsson and Lance Lennon as admin moderators with David Chan and Aleigha Henderson-Rosser serving as Community Managers. Additionally, Kristal Ayres (Lead Education Strategist for Google) continues as the administrator on this site for Google for Education.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to seeing you all on the new site starting Friday, February 16, 2024.

So, will we need to take any action? Has the address changed?

Nope, it's going to be an in-place upgrade.

Today, Friday, when you wake up and log in (if in American timezone 😁) It'll just be the new nice design. We will get more information about the ideas, and @llennon and I will most likely do a livestream, where everyone will be invited!, talking about the new design and how to best use it.

But, also, yes, the internal bread-crumb addresses are different. So if you have a bookmark for the old Forum page, you'll have to redo that to Discussion, perhaps, of just get used to stopping at the updated landing page for a few seconds when joining.

idk if we need to re-subscribe to the new forum by using the three dots on the top right.
If you do, by default it subscribes you to all three.
