Yes, there is one not-AI update too, about Chat+Mio, but that's not listed as available for Education.

Some great features being added, but at a huge premium. Very difficult budget wise.

Not a huge discount - but Duet is $24 a month for Education Users (20% off the business users' price) - It's really a business package and not one aimed at Education. You would need a good business case to be paying that - possibly someone in a content generation role could justify it.

Yeah, if the feature generates pure revenue that exceeds those $30 each month, it's not hard to motivate.

It's a shame though that educating the future isn't considered a profit for society, or Google in this case.

Its disappointing that this is not being included in Edu Plus which we pay enough money for already. If we can buy just a few licences - we might consider it. However, I'm long for the good old days when everything for Edu was free.

In my discussions with Google, they are indeed considering it as an add-on like Voice, so you will be able to purchase one or more licenses for it. Supposedly there won't be minimum purchase requirements.

Yes, only those who need it will have to get a licence, but I agree with @rdnixon ...

Education should get more stuff for free, especially those who already pay for Plus!
