What this means for your institution
In June 2024, we announced that Google Vids without generative AI features will be available to users with Google Workspace for Education Plus. Additionally, a version with generative AI will be available to users with a Gemini for Google Workspace add-on.
As early as November 7, 2024, qualifying users in your Google Workspace for Education domain will start gaining access to Google Vids. This new core service will be covered under your existing Google Workspace for Education agreement and offer the same technical support as other Google Workspace Services.
What you need to do
No action is required from you. However, we recommend reviewing New core services coming to Google Workspace for more details about the following:
- Qualifying Google Workspace for Education editions
- Default service settings for Google Vids and how to turn services on/off prior to launch
- Other launch details including rollout timing and accessing AI features in Google Vids
