Today, I have something exciting to share. For anyone who wants a cool certificate from Google to confirm their proficiency with Gemini and NotebookLM, the opportunity is here! Google has launched the "Gemini Certified Educator" program for us to test our knowledge and skills in AI for education. 🎓
I just recently took the exam myself and successfully passed the assessment, scoring 33/37, or 89%. I wanted to share my experience and encourage everyone to give it a try. It's not too difficult, but not too easy either. Just stay focused and read the questions carefully. If you're already using Gemini, I'm confident you'll pass for sure.
What is the exam like?
The exam focuses on assessing your understanding of Generative AI, AI in Google Workspace for Education, and its application in teaching and learning. Most of it is presented in a case study format, simulating various scenarios and asking you to choose the best way to solve problems using AI. The main topics cover:
- Gemini and NotebookLM: These are the two main tools that are emphasized.
- Ethical Use of AI: This includes topics like fact-checking information before use and techniques for handling situations where AI generates incorrect information.
- Use Cases: Choosing and applying Gemini appropriately for different situations and educational models.
- Gemini in Google Workspace: This is mentioned briefly but is an important part.

After registering, you will have 14 days to prepare before taking the exam. Importantly, there is no time limit for the exam. You can take as much time as you need to think and review, but you must complete it in a single session.
Once you pass the exam, you will soon receive a confirmation email with a link to access your digital certificate. This certificate is valid for a full 3 years!
