Is anyone here using gemini for marking? If so, how?

It would be a huge time saving but there is so much friction - copying, pasting into gemini and then copying that back into a feedback document.

Does anyone have any shortcuts?

Kieren, Google Classroom now has a useful shortcut if your school has Education Plus or the Teaching & Learning add-on. When reviewing a student's submission, you can select โ€œHelp me writeโ€ to generate feedback directly from their work, review and refine it, and post it as a private comment without copying and pasting.

In my own teaching, Gemini is more useful for formative feedback than actually marking. For example, in senior Physics and Chemistry, I want students to demonstrate their scientific reasoning, not simply arrive at the correct answer. AI can help identify possible misconceptions, suggest probing questions and generate next steps aligned with an assessment rubric.  I still need to judge the quality of the student's understanding.

My concern is that efficiency can easily become the driving objective when we should be asking whether the feedback actually improves learning.

I'd suggest starting with Gemini's integrated Classroom feedback tools, using a clear rubric and keeping the teacher responsible for assessment decisions. The goal should be less time generating feedback and more time responding to what students actually need.

Importo, confirmo a nota, e a mรฉdia o prรณprio Classroom calcula.
