Discover classroom-tested routines for analyzing real-world environmental data, guiding civil student discourse, and facilitating collaborative labs that empower every learner to address shared community and global challenges through evidence-based teamwork. Google Meet Link: https://meet.google.com/mmr-rbkc-cfc Guest Lisa Berghoff As a high school special education teacher for 19 years, Lisa Berghoff has worked with many students and their families to create unique learning experiences and ensure that they are an authentic part of the school community. She has seen firsthand the possibilities that come with utilizing technology in classrooms to help students learn in ways that were previously unimagined. Now, she is in her 12th year as the Director of Instructional Technology at Highland Park High School and is thrilled to be able to share what she has learned about effectively utilizing technology and AI in the classroom and beyond. She is also an ISTE Certified Educator, Google Certified Innovator, Trainer, Coach, GEG Leader and a presenter who provides professional development for teachers in the Chicago area. Lisa is the recipient of the 2026 IDEA Educator Of The Year and 2019 ISTE Making It Happen Award.

Event Overview Join the Global GEG for "Data Across Divides: Collaborative Science for Community Resilience and Harmony," a session conducted in Arabic focused on using digital scientific collaboration to resolve local challenges and cultivate community harmony. Aligned with our November theme of Science & Peace, this session explores practical methods for primary and secondary teachers to leverage Google Workspace to engage learners in localized, cooperative scientific action. Participants will discover how to structure student-led inquiry around shared resources using collaborative tools that encourage empathetic dialogue and evidence-based problem-solving. This session provides the instructional architecture necessary to help students see science not as an individual pursuit, but as a shared civic responsibility that promotes long-term peace and sustainable development. Event Accessibility: This event will be conducted in Arabic, but participants can use the Google Meet live translation feature to join from anywhere in the world.
