After teaching for two years at a juvenile delinquent center (county jail) - I can tell you, they are just like any other A+ student. They most likely are dealing with unmet accommodations which led to their incarceration. You're more than just an educator, you're a social worker, an ear for someone to talk to & more. Don't give up on them just because of their actions. Every student deserves the right to a fair education, regardless.
