The Google for Education Community Platform

CadenY

One thing I am noticing while exploring Generative AI is that its value is not always in producing something impressive. Sometimes, the most useful benefit is making a small routine easier to manage.

For example, educators and community professionals might use AI to organise notes, summarise feedback, prepare discussion questions, or adapt information for different audiences. These tasks may seem simple, but saving a little time can create more space for planning, reflection, and conversations with learners.

I am curious to hear from other educators:

What is one AI-supported routine that has genuinely improved your daily work, and what checks do you use before trusting the output?

I would be interested to learn from your experiences.

I am excited to be presenting a free webinar titled "Your Brain on AI: Moving from Crutch to Catalyst".

When students use AI, are they learning or just offloading?

As beneficial as AI can be, overreliance on it can hurt thinking skills, creativity, and understanding. How do we avoid this?

In this session we explore the 'Wrestle, Rap, Reflect' framework, a powerful, practical solution that keeps the human in the loop by requiring learners to engage their own brains before and after the AI interaction.

Students first wrestle with the content independently of AI, and then rap with the AI to enhance and extend their learning, and finally reflect on their use of AI to thoughtfully incorporate it.

See how to apply this framework to your existing lessons and content to integrate AI in a way that is responsible, meaningful, and transformative to student learning.

I am excited to be presenting a free webinar about creating better AI prompts. And what better time than September to have a "Promptember" event!

AI can have a powerful impact on teaching and learning, but the value of what you get out can often depend on the quality of what you put in. How can you craft better prompts to get the best results?

In this session we will explore hundreds of examples of excellent prompts, learn the top 10 tips for better prompts, and explore free Gemini Gems to help you make the best prompts for your needs.

Project Instruction CHEM-ANIMATE: The Invisible Tide: An AI-Supported Inquiry-Based Animation Project on Freshwater Acidification and Climate Change Communication

What started as a classroom project on ocean acidification became a meaningful collaboration between teachers from the Philippines and Austria.
Together with Bibiane @[email protected] from Austria, we used Google Workspace to plan, develop, and coordinate the project—from shaping the learning experience and research activities to preparing the implementation and sharing our students' work.
The collaboration continued beyond our own schools. Our students' learning connected classrooms across two countries and two continents, creating an authentic opportunity to exchange ideas, perspectives, and awareness about a global environmental issue that also matters deeply to the Philippines.
From planning in Google Workspace to sharing the final work through YouTube, technology helped us turn distance into connection.

Collaboration is no longer limited by school walls.
It can happen across schools, across countries, and across continents.

This project reminded us that when educators connect with a shared purpose, students gain something even more valuable than a completed project—a global audience, authentic collaboration, and a broader perspective of their role as young global citizens.

🇵🇭 Philippines × 🇦🇹 Austria
One project. Two classrooms. Two continents. One shared purpose.

What happens when Brazilian and Italian educators come together? A powerful exchange of ideas, shared challenges, and cross-cultural inspiration.

Leaders and educators from GEG Italia and GEG Diadema recently gathered for an international exchange aimed at strengthening collaboration and addressing the realities of teaching across borders.

Key Highlights from the Discussion:

International Educator Exchange: The meeting formalized an active collaboration between chapter leaders to share pedagogical strategies and spread actionable insights across the community.
Educational & Pedagogical Realities: The dialogue highlighted systemic contrasts between both countries—from school infrastructure and teacher workload to pedagogical autonomy and the ongoing challenges of classroom inclusion.
Valuing Teachers & the Future of Education: Participants discussed the crisis in teacher training and the need for better working and salary conditions. Inspiring stories of resilience reinforced the profound impact educators make on students' lives every day.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone from GEG Brazil, GEG Diadema and GEG Italy who showed up, shared their stories, and made magic happen! ✨

Special thanks to @SavioFerraz (GEG Leader Diadema) and @CFisanotti (GEG Leader Italia) for championing this initiative. And of course, a heartfelt shoutout to the amazing @Sabina_Hussaini , who built the bridge, connected both worlds, and made this wonderful get-together possible! 🌟🤝

A new school year means new ideas, new challenges, and new opportunities to make learning more interactive, engaging and meaningful.

On our website, we’ve created a dedicated page for teachers, packed with practical tips and ideas for an interactive Back to School — with a focus on freshness, innovation, creativity, and, above all, usefulness for teachers in their everyday practice.

Have a look and get inspired! We’d love for teachers and colleagues from other GEG communities to explore it too. 💡✨

Let’s start this new school year together — with fresh ideas and a little bit of innovation! 🚀

Hi everyone! QQ - for teacher recertification CEUs / Clock hours / PD credits, would a transcript from an accredited university with one undergraduate credit hour help you? Or must it be graduate hours?

This morning I attended the virtual Global GEG Event: "Digital Roots — Integrating Traditional Knowledge into Classrooms (Bahasa Indonesia)".

As a native English speaker, this was a brand-new experience for me (and yes, I was a little unsure of myself!)

I relied on Google Meet’s real-time translation + English closed-captions to follow along—and it worked seamlessly!
It was incredible to immerse myself in another culture's approach to education.

What struck me most is how connected we ALL are: educators around the globe are using Google Workspace for Education to solve the same challenges, innovate, and bring incredible value to their students.

Huge thank you to the organizers and speakers for an inspiring session! 💙
