Hello!

I am excited to share that the annual Kent ISD AI Summit is back for the 26-27 school year! We listened to feedback and this year we will be hosting the Summit during the day to better accommodate schedules. The past four years have pushed teaching and learning on how AI actually fits into our classrooms in a way that helps educators and students - without adding more to our overflowing plates.

Kent ISD Fall AI Summit 2026:

Date: Monday, November 2, 2026
Time: 8:30am - 2:30pm
Location: Kent ISD, Educational Service Center

I’m especially excited that Danielle Boyer is our keynote speaker! Danielle is an incredible Native American robotics inventor and STEAM advocate who builds low-cost tech to make learning accessible for every student. Her approach is hands-on, down-to-earth, and centered on equity.

The focus for the AI Summit this year is EMPOWERMENT and you can expect to engage in learning and see practical applications on ways to:

Clear away learning obstacles for students who need extra support
Give every student a platform to share their voice and story
Make hands-on tech tools accessible in any classroom

If you're in the area and want to connect with other K-12 educators and leaders, I’d love to see you there!

Spots are limited, but you can reserve your seat here.

Have a great day,

Sarah

Hello, Michigan educators!

Welcome to our brand-new platform space! Whether you were part of our previous GEG Michigan google group or you are joining us for the very first time, we are thrilled you’re here.

As we launch this community on our new platform, our goal is simple: to create a connected, collaborative space where Michigan teachers, tech coaches, administrators, higher-ed faculty, and educational leaders can share ideas, tackle challenges, and level up our tech skills together.

To get things rolling, we want to know who is in the room and where you’re tuning in from across the state!

Drop a comment below with:

Your Role & District/Organization: (e.g., 4th Grade Teacher, Tech Integration Specialist, High School Principal, ISD Specialist)
Where on the Mitten (or Yooper land!) are you located? (Bonus points for using the classic "hand map" reference: Thumb? Tip of the Mitt? West Michigan? UP?)
One goal or topic you hope to explore with this community this year (e.g., Gemini & AI tools, Chromebook workflow hacks, Google Workspace admin, digital citizenship, etc.)

I’ll kick things off in the comments below! Can't wait to see the incredible mix of talent and passion across our Great Lakes state. Tag a fellow Michigan colleague below who should join us!

Keeping the Momentum Alive: The MAASE Administrator Webinar Series This series is designed to be highly operational, using the "snackable and stackable" framework of the Google AI Educator Series to show leaders how to safely, ethically, and effectively integrate generative tools like Gemini and NotebookLM into their daily routines. Each one-hour session will feature live modeling, practical strategies, and hands-on "sandbox" practice to ensure administrators leave with ready-to-use workflows. Our goal is to show how AI can take on the heavy lifting of routine administrative tasks—freeing up leaders to focus on what matters most: human relationships, coaching, and student support. Here is their schedule for the school year: September 28, 2026 — Introduction to Gemini October 26, 2026 — Introduction to NotebookLM November 30, 2026 — Introduction to Vibe Coding January 25, 2027 — Drafting Parent Communications (across Teacher, Principal, and Director roles) February 22, 2027 — Turning Data into Instructional Strategies March 29, 2027 — Building Just-in-Time Coaching & Staff Workload Scaffolds April 26, 2027 — Material Adaptation and Classroom Scaffolding June 1, 2027 — Lesson Design, Assessment Redesign, and Critical Thinking Registration Details can be found here.
