Why This Matters
When support aligns with real teacher needs, it builds trust and momentum. When it doesn’t, even well-designed efforts can feel like “one more thing.”

The goal isn’t to add more support. It’s to make sure the support you’re offering actually fits.

Try This: The “Match Check” Reflection

Think about one support you currently have in place (PD session, initiative, system, or resource).

Ask yourself:

What problem was this meant to solve?

What are teachers actually experiencing right now?

Where do those two things align?

Where do they not?

Then, identify one small adjustment:

Something to remove

Something to simplify

Or something to better align with what teachers are actually asking for

Keep it small. The goal is not to redesign everything. It is to get closer to the need.

Optional AI Boost
If you want a quick thinking partner, try prompting:

“Here is a support structure I’ve implemented: [describe briefly].
Here is what teachers are currently experiencing: [describe].
Where might there be misalignment, and what is one small adjustment I could make?”

Use the response to spark reflection, not as the answer.

Optional Deeper Dive: Tricks of the (Principal) Trade: 7 Ways to Support Teachers

Share
After reflecting, what is one small shift you might try this week to better align support with teacher needs?

Drop it in the comments. Small adjustments, shared across a community, can lead to meaningful change.
