I’ve been reflecting on one question lately:
How do we move from individual teacher efforts to a whole-school culture of innovation?

In my school, I started small not with tools, but with people.

We built a digital team called SriMas EduTech Leaders, where teachers come together weekly to explore tools like Google Workspace, AI, and other digital platforms. The goal is simple: not just to learn, but to lead.

At the same time, we also empowered students through a parallel initiative, SriMas InnovateX, where pupils are trained to become digital leaders themselves. What surprised me most is how powerful it is when students and teachers grow together in the same ecosystem.

Some key shifts I’ve noticed:

Teachers are more confident to try new approaches in class

Sharing culture is becoming more natural (less fear, more collaboration)

Innovation is no longer seen as “extra work”, but part of everyday teaching

One thing I’ve learned is digital transformation is not about introducing more tools. It’s about building a community that is willing to learn, unlearn, and grow together.

I’m still learning along the way, but this journey has shown me that leadership is less about directing, and more about creating space for others to shine.

I’m curious..How are you building a culture of innovation in your school?
