Hope your doing well. Have you ever thought how Google for Education resources particularly Google Notebooklm and Google Gemini have completely transformed teaching and learning in schools and classrooms? have you ever observed the various ways in Google Notebooklm and Google Gemini can truly empower learners and teachers in schools. Let me share some fantastic ideas about how as educators we can impact the diverse education landscape in Pakistan in numerous ways using the Google for education resources.

Let us create a Google Notebooklm for specifically grade 6 learners studying Science. As we all know the Google Notebooklm has three sections namely sources, chat and the studio section. So we start by uploading the PDF textbook of Grade 6 Science based on the single national curriculum in Pakistan in the sources section of the notebooklm. The next step is to ask questions or queries about content in the textbook. So we can start by doing the following:

Chat section:

1. Create summaries of all chapters with key points

2. Create lesson plans with differentiated activities based on the content to be covered in all chapters

3. Create assessment of various chapters formative and summative

4. Create audio/video overviews of all topics in both Urdu and English

5. Save all content as notes in Google Notebooklm.

6. Add your peers in the Google Notebooklm with edit view.

Also teachers can add learners in their Google Notebooklm with view only rights. The learners can watch the audio and video overviews of the content and build a through and a deeper understanding of the content. It is about providing personalised support to your learners in ways that was not possible before.

All grade 6 teachers teaching Science in different branches of the schools have access to the same content which they can save and even edit. The quality of lesson planning to assessments will improve tremendously. The teaching and learning in classroom will improve tremendously.

Imagine a traditional paper pencil classroom without Google Notebooklm, how would share resources with your learners and peers? even if is a lesson plan? who will ensure the lesson plan is innovative and creative? meets the learning objectives? caters to differentiated learning? will you print our the lesson plans? how would explain the content learners who understand in Urdu and not in English ? and the list of question is endless!

Let us now create a similar but a different learning experience for grade 6 learners studying Science using Google Gemini. We will open Gemini using the link and then we will use the + to upload the PDF textbook for grade 6 Science. You can upload files from your computer as well your Google drive. A good suggestion would be to upload all PDF textbooks in Google drive folder subject wise. You can now use either of the tools to create interactive content for your learners.

1. You can use the tools menu in Gemini and select Canvas to create interactive quizzes or flash cards about a topic in the textbook and share the link with your learners.

2. You can use the tools menu in Gemini and select the Guided Learning feature to help learners dive deeper into difficult and challenging concepts.

3. You can use the tools menu in Gemini and select the Canvas and create differentiated lesson plans and share link with your peers.

4. You can create infographic and audio overviews of the various topics in the textbook and share using the links

5. You can upload data in Google Sheets and ask Gemini to analyse it for you, empowering you to use actual insights from data and modify the lesson plans accordingly.

6. You can even ask Gemini to give you suggestions based on the results of the assessment or design a new lesson plan or create a revised quiz based on the results.

Imagine how these tools could do wonders for teachers in bot private and government schools in Pakistan. It is a good to have a Single National Curriculum in Pakistan , it ensures all teachers know what is to be taught. Its the HOW to be taught the makes the whole difference. And the How is hidden in Google Notebooklm and Google Gemini.

Both powerful tools well capable of transforming education landscape in Pakistan like never before.
