topic Class Tools Student Focus Workaround in Google Educator Collaboration Space

Good afternoon,

Our students have found a way to circumvent the 'focus' mode on Class Tools. Where students have an editable Google Doc/Slides in the assignment - for example, a worksheet on a Google Doc where I want them to complete their answers - students have discovered by selecting 'Insert > Link', they can add a link to Google or Gemini, which then becomes clickable and takes them out of the restrictions I've set on Class Tools.

Is there a way to prevent this? Or is this something that will hopefully be rectified in future updates?

Many thanks,

Rebecca
