Відповідь: Global GEG Event | Science for Society: Building Peace Through Collaborative Inquiry

How can you combine various tools into a single, engaging inquiry?
For instance, you could propose a research project to your students: "How eco-friendly is our school environment?"
From a question to a discovery:
1. Google Forms

Surveying students about their eco-friendly habits.
2. Google Sheets

Analyzing responses, calculating results, and creating charts.
3. Google Docs

Collaboratively drafting a research report.
4. Google Earth

Exploring green spaces around the school.
5. Google Slides

Presenting findings and defending proposed solutions.
6. Google Meet

Discussing the project with an expert or a representative from an environmental organization.

What makes this kind of learning truly engaging?
In my view, it is not so much about the digital tools themselves, but rather how the educator organizes the inquiry process.

It is worth:
- Starting with a problem relevant to the students' real lives.
- Allowing them to choose their own topic or direction for the research.
- Encouraging not only correct answers but also thought-provoking questions.
- Providing opportunities for teamwork and the exchange of ideas.
- Teaching students how to verify the credibility of sources and distinguish facts from assumptions.
- Concluding the research with a tangible outcome that can be presented or applied in practice.
Most importantly: Google Workspace should not turn scientific inquiry into just another digital assignment. Its true value lies in the fact that the student becomes an active participant in the learning process: exploring, making mistakes, verifying, debating, and reaching conclusions independently. That is precisely when learning becomes truly engaging.

I will be letting teachers know at our school. 🙂
