In the Google meet settings I found a magic switch that looks like it enables this blocking.

Check out the last switch on the screenshot to try it out. It worked recently for one of our webinars

Limit 3rd Party Google Meet Bot Participants

We're looking to limit the use of some 3rd party meeting assistants that don't meet our data privacy standards.

Typically these services have a bot join the meeting.

Our staff are able to have outside Meet participants and we don't want to move to a domain allowlist model. I would be fine with blocklisting these 3rd party domains but that does not seem to be an option.

We have blocked API access to one of the services in question, so our users can't use the service, but outside participants could still use the service and attempt to have their bot connect, which would then rely on our Meeting host to deny access to the bot manually.

I looked into creating a rule that would take an action when the bot joined based on their domain name. I can see when an outside user knocks, but haven't been able to get the outside account email address listed. I see the log event when the bot leaves the meeting but that's not helpful.

Interesting find @nzsteve !

It would seem that the Media API setting in the Admin console should address this concern as well, but I'm finding that ours is not enabled, and yet we still face this issue.
