If I remember correctly, using GAM, there is a way to show which calendars are affected, and then you can use GAM to (I use Advanced GAM) change the calendars. I did this a while back, but can't remember the commands I used. If you don't use GAM already, I highly recommend setting it up; it is great!

Hi all,

We are having a weird issue with Google Calendar. In the admin console, all OUs are set to have internal and external sharing options showing "only free/busy." However, when anyone attempts to "search for people" within GCalendar in an attempt to create an event, all event details appear for all users in our domain. All students and staff have the ability to view anyone's calendar details. NG. Am I missing an overlapping setting somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Janet DeSenzo

Tech Coordinator, CTC Academy

The 'internal sharing' option found in the Admin Console simply sets the default sharing level for all users. This can be overriden on each calendar directly and a higher level of sharing can be configured.

I suggest that you check the sharing settings on a configured calendar.

I think the other thing to note is that it isn't retroactive, so it won't change the settings of any events already created. I think you have to use GAM for that.

Ok - so what I was told by a Google provider is that once that setting was chosen when we did our Google migration, that's what will stick. Changing it after the fact will not change everyone's individual settings. We would need to use something like GAM or gPanel but even then, we'd need to change it for each individual. So, I guess I will send out an email with step by step directions. Thanks all.
