I see no such settings anywhere.

The change has also not been announced anywhere, that I can find, so it's yet another example of Google changing something without telling us admins before hand, and also not letting us control the behaviour with an admin setting.

@Kristal perhaps this can be relayed to the chromeOS team, with a question on how we are supposed to manage this most unwanted behaviour. I've checked the chromium bugs, and nobody has posted about this there, and it's not mentioned in any changelog of any version of chromeOS.

This entire concept of just releasing new features without previously announcing them in the roadmaps, and preferably also just before in the Visible Changes (as it is 100% relevant for Workspace admins!) and then actually not even having it included in the official changelogs after release is getting tiresome.

We (several of us) have been pushing this topic for years.
Do not release features/services without a heads-up, and never ever without admin controls.

There are so many aspects of features that obviously aren't top-of-mind for an engineer, but may be vital for the experience in a school setting, and since schools are still, and probably for years to come, the largest audience for Chromebooks, that needs to be considered before releasing new features, and perhaps already while developing, or even considering developing new features.

Talk to school admins, talk to teachers! You (Google) have direct access to the best audience right here.

Ever since we updated to OS 117, our students have started getting this option when they sign into a chromebook for the first time. Since we have enabled clearing of local data on our elementary students, this happens everytime. Does anybody know if there is a setting to mute this option?

I was seeing a third new prompt showing up for students as well in regards to "Ad Measurement" settings.

I WAS able to find the admin console setting for that one and disable it for my students:

Devices>Chrome>Settings>Users & browsers>Privacy Sandbox>Configuration>Do Not show the Privacy Sandbox prompt for users

Have you verified that that setting works?

Since that popup appears super early during the initial startup, I was afraid it would slip through before the user policy has been fully loaded.
